Elements for Excellence 2010
Elements for Excellence 2010 is coming up on Tuesday, March 23rd at the Conference Center at Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Join businesses and professional women from throughout the region at this all-day educational conference for women and presented by women. The program is being offered by Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce with generous support from HarborOne. First Lady of the Commonwealth Diane Patrick will be the keynote speaker. Pembroke Family Benefit
The Masonic Lodge in Hanover at Hanover Four Corners is putting on a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner to benefit a local family in Pembroke. The McClune family has been forced to make their home handicap accessible for their son, 24 year old Mathew McClune, who was paralyzed after a tragic accident. The dinner will be held on March 13th with two seating at 5 and 7PM. The cost is $15.00 per person and $25.00 per couple and all of the proceeds will be donated to the family. There will also be a silent auction with items and gift certificates donated by local merchants.

Patti Derosa at Blue Moon Coffeehouse
Saturday, March 13th at 7:30 p.m., the Blue Moon Coffeehouse features contemporary acoustic folk artist Patti Derosa. Patti conjures up an eclectic mix of jazz, R&B, rock and funk, grounded in a folk sensibility with lyrics that are passionate, insightful, and full of attitude. Hingham Historical Society Spring Dinner
The Hingham Historical Society is pleased to announce that its Annual Spring Dinner will feature an illustrated history of the Hingham Fire Department, presented by Hingham Fire Chief Mark Duff. The Dinner will be held at Old Derby Academy, 34 Main Street in Hingham on Wednesday, March 17 at 6:30pm. Poetry: The Art of Words - Mike Amado Memorial Series
Poetry the Art of Words will hold its March program on Sunday March 14th at the Plymouth Guild for the Arts Building, 11 North St., Plymouth beginning at 12:30. This month's featured reader will be Ellen Steinbaum, the former editor of "City Type" a Boston Globe column. She has authored two books of poetry and also wrote "Center Piece", a one-person play. American Legion Fundraiser
The American Legion will hold a fundraiser to benefit Children's Hospital "Partnership for Kids", a state sponsored American Legion Event. The American Legion is organizing a Meat Raffle with help from The Son's of The American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary on Friday, March 19 at 7:00PM at their Post, located at 33 Legion Parkway in Whitman. This event is open to the general public. There will be some side raffles plus various meat trays and all proceeds will be donated to Children's Hospital. Miss Massachusetts, Amanda Kelly, will make an appearance at our event. She is the Ambassador for Children's Miracle Network which raises funds for Children's Hospitals and spokeswoman for Make-A-Wish Foundation. North Community Church Benefit
Members of North Community Church’s adult mission group will host a fundraising dinner on Saturday, March 20 at 7:00pm in the Parish House, Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills. Tickets for the baskets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You don’t need to be present to win. All proceeds will benefit North Community Church Adult Mission. Beauty for Borders Fundraiser
Want to do your part to assist Costa Rica with medical care, clinics, and supplies? You’re cordially invited to attend BEAUTY FOR BORDERS, a special fundraising event to benefit Children without Borders (www.cwbfoundation.org). This organization, which has had an active presence in Duxbury for the past two years, is a nonprofit that provides life-saving and medical care to children, and preventative health education for families in underserved countries. The Pilgrim Festival Chorus Performance
The Pilgrim Festival Chorus (PFC), the region’s principal community choral group will continue their 2009-10 season with a performance of George Frideric Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus. The concert will take place on Sunday, April 11th at 4:00 p.m. at The Church of the Pilgrimage, 8 Town Square in Plymouth. PFC Music Director, William B.
