The trophy to the left is from the Churchill family collection. Liza's Great-Great Grandfather James Henry Churchill won the 1904 Net Championship at the now extinct Merry Mount Golf Club in Quincy, MA.

Liza Churchill hails from a long line of New England golfers. She draws her “insider’s perspective� from over 15 years she has spent working within the golf industry at various country clubs on Cape Cod.

The main goal of the Goldie Bounce Golf Radio Show is two fold ~ to preserve golf’s rich history and traditions while fostering growth for its future in New England. 

It is well known that there's a distinct lack of press coverage for the state and local tournaments as well as the developmental mini-tour circuit ~  thus the inspiration for Goldie Bounce Golf Media was born!  The technology explosion on the world wide has brought about a booming “social networking� aspect to golf media. The world wide golfing community has become more accessible and “user friendly� to the public.  Goldie Bounce Golf  hopes to exemplify these trends for after all ~ golf is fun!

History Making Win for Carnegie Abbey's Scott Spence

Carnegie Abbey's Director of Instruction ~ Scott Spence made New England golf history today racking up his second Section Major Title in one year at the 86th Annual NEPGA Championship!  This event, held at the Woodlands Club and Portland CC in Falmouth, Maine August 24 ~ 26th, was paired down to 36 holes due to severe rainstorms.

PGA Tour Pro Jim Furyk was "deemed ineligible to play" in the Barclays today! PGA Tour Pro Jim Furyk arrived in Paramus, NJ full of confidence ~ sitting atop the FedExCup Standings at #3.

Former MGA Executive Director Richard D. Haskell

July 11th - Former MGA Executive Director Richard D. Haskell passes away at the age of 84.  A top advocate for Amateur golfers in Massachusetts, Richard served the MGA for 30 years before retiring in 1997.

 

Young Guns Roar!

The battle cry for this year's 12th Annual CVS Caremark Charity Classic Event was "Young Guns!" Held June 27th thru 29th at the Rhode Island CC and Co-Hosted by local PGA Tour Pros Billy Andrade and Brad Faxon ~ this years event showcased some of the finest young talent on the LPGA, PGA and Champions Tours! 

2010 Massachusetts Open Champion ~ James Hazen

After a bit of a dry spell career mini-tour player James Hazen stepped up to the plate in a come from behind win (he was 3 strokes off the lead going into his final round) capturing the 101st Massachusetts Open Championship held at the Wellesley Country Club June 21 ~ 23rd.  

2010 Deutsche Bank Championship

The 8th Annual Deutsche Bank Championship kicks off August 31 ~ Labor Day September 6th at the TPC Boston in Norton!  Tickets go on sale June 18th thru July 4th or until sold out! This is the second stop in the Race for the PGA Tour FedEx Cup.  There are some changes to the course layout for the Top 100 PGA Tour Players this year.  

Francis Ouimet Would Be Proud!

Since it's inception in 1949, the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund has given away more than 22 million dollars in scholarships to 4,700 deserving students!  This year despite the difficult economic climate and fundraising uncertanties the Ouimet Fund will award 1.7 million in scholarships ~ up 10% from last year!
