Town of Marshfield

Marshfield has a yearly population of more that 21,000 that doubles in the summertime. The town hosts the Marshfield fair, which attracts visitors from all around the state. Marshfield is the birthplace of Statesman Daniel Webster and his law office, a national historic landmark, is located next to the historic Winslow house. Marshfield was settled by Pilgrims from the original Plymouth Colony and was founded in 1640. Marshfield was the home of many people who remained loyal to King George III of Great Britain during the Revolutionary War. Built in 1699, the Winslow House was never modernized. The house shows how those loyal to the king lived in the years before the American Revolution.
