The Bill Wilhelm Scholarship Fund awards two
scholarships each year to student athletes on the South
Shore. The scholarship was established in 2000 as a
tribute to Bill Wilhelm the long time Sports Director
at WATD.. The students are selected for excellence
in scholastics, athleticism, character and community

About Bill Wilhelm
| When WATD-fm was formed
in 1977, Bill Wilhelm joined the staff as the Sports
Director, and has remained in that position ever
since. As such his focus has been on local amateur
and high school athletes. Bill decides what games
are to be broadcast, and also does the morning "drive
time" sports every day but Sunday. Additionally,
he does play-by-play of high school football, basketball
and soccer. Every Sunday evening he hosts "the Sports
Exchange", a sports talk show, from 5PM to 6:30PM. |
