A fire Monday afternoon at 95 Hershey Lane in Abington is said to be accidental.
Abington Fire Chief Arthur Pelland says fire crews, when they arrived, found heavy fire showing from the front of the split level home.
The fire remains under investigation, but it appears accidental. A neighbor tells WATD the homeowner told her that the fire was caused by a candle.
Chief Pelland says the home is un-habitable and the homeowner will be staying with family that lives nearby.
When fire crews were responding to the scene, a power line that had been connected to the house fell and landed on the roof of one of the fire trucks. The power to the wire was cut by the power company when they arrived on scene.
Crews from Whitman also assisted at the scene.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was also requested to assist with the investigation.
